Gooooooood morning Australia!
(If you’re just here to read about the $3000 design prize, scroll down to #3.)
It’s been a minute. Annual peak season has officially kicked in, which means I’ll be working crazy hours (~50h per week plus) until about November – and relying on my lovely assistants to help me deliver your design work as promptly as possible under time pressure.
I know this wave of work always hits around April, and you’ve gotta be as prepared as possible so you can honour client promises even when you’re stretched. So during my usual business lull from Christmas to Easter, I ran a fine-toothed comb through Origami Graphics and made some changes to prep for Busy Time™.
Here’s what you can expect for the rest of 2026 – starting with a really exciting one.
1. Omakase Brand + Web Intensive Days are now available
1 day. A logo and website. SEO copy work. Brand sheet with fonts and colour codes. All delivered straight into your inbox while you kick back and relax. I put a lot of thought into this package, and I’m so excited to tell you about it.
The Omakase (which basically means the “chef’s special”) is an intense branding day where you tell me what you want your logo and website to look like, and I get it done for you in 24 hours. It’s the core essentials of my Basic Logo Package and 5-Page Website, with the nice-to-haves and changes removed – meaning your project is turned around at hyperspeed and with at least $2300 in savings compared to a full brand and web project.
This helps you launch your business or rebrand FAST, without fiddling around with design feedback for weeks. It also helps me – by having a concrete, watertight, non-customisable brand and web offering I can squeeze into a 24-hour slot… without impacting my other clients’ bookings.
The Omakase is so concentrated that I can offer it anytime, no matter how busy I am. Because it also counts as an Express Rate project, your Omakase Day gets precedence over all other client bookings.
Oh, and did I mention you’ll also get 35% off all my services for the next 3 months, as thanks?

PS: Already got a logo and annoyed you can’t get this deal? Don’t worry – you actually can! If you just want the web work and don’t need the logo and brand sheet, shave $750 off the price of your Omakase package.
2. Other projects will be stretching out a little
I’ve now been crazy-busy for about 3 straight years, and my previous project time estimates are no longer cutting it.
I’m finding that I get overwhelmed with demand far more often than I used to. When this happens, urgent client needs throw everyone else’s timelines way off, and I have to choose between turning loyal clients away or delaying new clients’ work. Having (human) design assistants on board is so helpful for this, but contingency time needs to be built in for their own availability and capacity. They run their own small businesses too, and are not always available at the drop of a hat.
So, I’ll be building an additional buffer of 1-2 weeks into all my project timeframes from now on. This means we can take more time to relax and get your project right, there’ll be wiggle room for the unexpected (on your side and mine!), and I’ll be able to meet deadlines more reliably again.
If you get your quote and you’re not happy with the proposed timeframe, look into something like that Omakase Package – or pay the Express Rate to get priority on your project and halve its delivery time. Because time, lately, is rare and valuable!
3. Whoever pays my 1000th invoice gets up to $3000 in free design work
Origami Graphics has just turned 8 years old and issued its 900th invoice. How far we’ve come! How much we’ve done!
To celebrate finishing 1000 client projects, I’ll be giving away a free Omakase Brand and Web Day (usual value $3000) to whoever happens to pay Invoice #1000.
I’ve just sent Invoice #900 off today, May 3 2026 – and according to my records, Invoice #800 was sent about six months ago on November 18 2025. So, I expect that elusive Invoice #1000 will fall sometime during the months of September or October 2026.
I know it’s really going to suck for whoever gets Invoices #999 and #1001, so I’ll also give them an automatic $500 credit off their next project as a runner-up prize.
Some ground rules and terms:
- Both new and existing clients are eligible – it’s all about who books that 1000th spot.
- I will need to publicly state the name of the person, organisation, or business that wins – as well as their date of winning – to ensure there is accountability and transparency in the competition. If you do not agree to this, you will not be able to accept the prize and it will shift to the person after you.
- The 1000th invoice has to be paid in full before you can receive the prize. In other words, you have to complete and pay for your entire project to be eligible, including if you’re on a 6-month payment plan.
- If you cancel your project (or your project is cancelled due to contract violation); or, you only pay the deposit and then don’t go ahead, the 1000th invoice requirement will be considered unmet, and the reward will shift to the person after you.
- When we get down to the final 20 invoices, I won’t tell you what invoice number we’re up to during the quoting process. This prevents time-wasting from people who only care about going ahead with a design project if they’re going to get invoice #1000.
- You can’t place a deposit to try to book the 1000th project early – doing so will only cause your invoice to fall on an earlier number. If you want to nab Invoice 1000 with a deposit, you’ll need to plan your deposit payment for that estimated time of September-October 2026 and cross your fingers. And remember, even if your deposit payment falls on the 1000th invoice, you won’t receive the reward til you finish paying off the project in full.
- If you win but don’t want your free Omakase package, you can: convert it into 24 hours of non-express design work, give it to a friend or family member, or gift it to a charity.
You can’t game this – you’re just gonna have to try your luck and stumble into the 1000th project by pure wonderful coincidence.
My money’s on a complete and clueless stranger getting this prize, actually.
Good luck!
