What's a semi-Custom Website Design?

Omakase intensive websites are semi-custom, which means we start from a template, and I add your copy and convert it into your colours and branding.

Here are some of my previous semi-custom websites, which both started with Squarespace’s Passero template. The end results look completely different – even though both of these Canberra clients started with the same website template.

What's included in the omakase brand + web design day?

Basic Logo Package

One of my most popular design services – a professional logo based on an idea you’ve got in mind. This can be as simple as a sketch on a napkin, a really comprehensive Pinterest board, or something you’ve generated using AI. You don’t need to be good at drawing – that’s my job!

I take your idea and whip it up into a professional logo using Adobe Illustrator. I’ll then export it into all the file types you could ever need – including variations of colour, layout, and size. Next time your printer asks you for a vector file, you’ll know exactly what to give them.

Usually costs $550 and takes a week.

5 Page Semi Custom Website

In WordPress, Squarespace, Framer, or Shopify (please note I no longer offer Wix websites – but you can absolutely take this opportunity to change from Wix to a new platform).

“Semi-custom” means I start with a template hand-picked for your business – then flesh it out with your branding, colours and copy. I’ll connect your domain and handle all the technical stuff, too. Your pages will be Home, About, Contact Us, and two other pages of your choice.

As the cherry on top, I’ll enrich the design with custom CSS code to make your website design unique to you.

Usually costs $4000 and takes 4+ weeks.

SEO Copy Revamp

There’s no point having a beautiful new website if nobody can find it.

I’ll research 10 relevant trending keywords and work them into your provided copy to skyrocket your SEO. This means you’ll get found on Google and AI chatbots way faster – in other words, customers. Soon.

This is on top of the SEO best practice setup that’s already included in the website design package.

Usually costs $450.

Hosting Included

I cover up to $350 worth of hosting in all my website design packages – meaning you may not need to pay a single invoice to your website provider until next year.

The total amount saved depends on which web provider we’ve used and how comprehensive your hosting package is.

These Omakase intensive design days are, well, intense, and I’ve already crammed as much work as I can into 24 hours by sacrificing my sleep and sanity. This means we don’t have time to make changes.

Like the name says – Omakase, “leave it to me” – you’re trusting me to pump out your logo and website fast – using my professional expertise. So make sure you’re ready to trust me before opting for an Omakase design day!

But… I get that it’s likely you’ll want to make some changes once you see your work. I get that handing over $3k without full creative control might be scary. And I also want to thank you for ordering the “chef’s special”, and letting me go wild with my creativity.

So, as thanks, you’ll get 35% off all my services for the next 3 months. That means you’ll be paying $95 per hour instead of $150 for whatever changes you might like – while getting 35% off all other design projects including stationery, report design, extra web pages, and illustration. No value cap – just order your extras within 3 months of your Omakase day.

What's the process for an omakase brand and web design day?

  1. Fill in the form at the bottom of this page. 
  2. I’ll contact you to confirm your date, ask for any extra info I need, and then get everything organised.
  3. Pay your 60% deposit to confirm your Omakase brand and web design day. Get your logo idea and 5-pages of website copy prepared. Organise a photographer if you’re going to need any headshots or original images in your website.

    Then…

  4. Once your day starts, I close my business to everyone except you.
  5. Starting with the Basic Logo Package, I’ll pull an intensive design day. Logo files, a brand sheet full of colour codes and fonts, and the link to a stunning new website will hit your mailbox as the day goes on.
  6. 24 hours after we’ve started, I wrap up and issue your final invoice for 40%. 
  7. As soon as your final invoice is paid, your website is transferred into your ownership and your 3 months of discounted design work begins. If you’d like any extra changes to your Omakase design products, you can request them straight away at 35% off.

A few things you should know:

– GST is included in all pricing, so you know your final quote is the actual amount you’ll be paying. You may also be able to claim some of the project price back at tax time.

Credit card payment is available, and it’s managed through PayPal for that extra peace of mind.

– Check my FAQ for more info about my design work and processes.

– This type of service is only doable because it’s a 1:1 intensive day and there’s no time for changes. If you want tight control, lots of revisions, options to choose from, 6-month payment plans, or to take your time giving feedback, I’d recommend opting for a more standard branding and/or web design project instead. 

– Unless otherwise specified, my design work is done remotely. If I’m at home in Canberra on the day of your booking, I’ll consider requests to complete the work at your business, office or workspace. You can peek over my shoulder if you like.

– If I’m sick on your Omakase date and you don’t want to move your booking to a different day, I’ll refund your full deposit. If we go ahead and I don’t deliver everything within 24 hours as promised, you’ll get a $25 refund for every hour that I run behind until the work is done.

Because I’m shutting down my whole business for you – and pledging to complete all your work at once, including paying your website’s first year subscription fees – this project requires a large two-thirds deposit. So to maximise your chances of LOVING your new logo and website given the substantial upfront investment, I recommend that you provide me with as much reference material as possible. Think: Pinterest moodboards, examples of other websites, vision boards, collages, or a detailed written brief.

Omakase design days take precedence over all other bookings – except for other clients who’ve booked urgent work on my Express Rate.

The Omakase Design and Web day is designed to deliver maximum value in minimum time. It’s one day, but it’s not simple or low-quality – it’s rigorous! And I know that $3000 in one day is a lot!

So if it’s not for you, there are heaps of other options.

I offer other web design services, including audits of your current website or your SEO. This gives you pointers for improvement that you can do yourself – without having to redo your whole website.

You might also just like to hire me out across a few normal-priced days, for a slower project with capacity for revisions. Your work will take at least three times as long, your days will be subject to availability, and you won’t save as much money in the end – but you’ll have more breathing room and creative control included.
